Introduction

Inlet area and lubrication area:

The entrance area is generally provided with an arc, which is convenient for drawing metal into the working area without being scratched by the edge of the die hole. The lubrication area is to introduce lubricant to lubricate the tensile material.

Workspace:

The working area is the fundamental part of metal tensile plastic deformation. Generally speaking, its height is not less than the aperture. If it is too small, the stretched metal will produce too much pressure on the working area of the wire die, which will significantly increase the tensile stress and lead to the rapid wear of the wire drawing die.

The height of the working area varies with the properties of the tensile material, its diameter and lubrication. The reasons for its selection are:

1. When stretching soft metal wire, it shall be shorter than hard metal wire.

2. When drawing small diameter wire, the larger diameter wire should be shorter.

3. Wet lubrication should be shorter than dry lubrication when stretching.

Reasons for selection of working cone angle:

1. The smaller the compression ratio is, the smaller the working cone angle should be.

2. The harder the wire is drawn, the smaller the working cone angle should be.

3. Stretch small diameter materials with larger diameter materials.

Reasons for selecting the height of sizing area:

1. Tensile soft metal materials are shorter than hard metal materials.

2. Stretch large diameter materials and short diameter materials.

3. Wet lubrication drawing is shorter than dry lubrication drawing.
